Crown copyright is legally defined under section 163 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as works made by officers or servants of the Crown in the course of their duties.

Listed Buildings by Category (HES WMS) (OSCP)	The Listed Building Dataset comprises the statutory addresses and supplementary information for listed buildings in Scotland. Listing is the recognition through the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) (Scotland) Act 1997 that a building or structure is of ‘special’ interest. Historic Environment Scotland lists buildings on behalf of Scottish Ministers.
Scheduled Monuments - including protected wrecks (HES WMS) (OSCP)	Scheduled monuments are nationally important monuments and sites. The aim of scheduling is to preserve sites and monuments as far as possible in the form in which they have come down to us today. They are legally protected through the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979. National importance takes account of a wide range of factors, including artistic, archaeological, architectural, historic, traditional, aesthetic, scientific and social. Guidance and criteria to assess national importance of monuments is set out by Scottish Ministers in The Scottish Historic Environment Policy.
Historic Marine Protected Areas (HMPAs) - protected wrecks contributing to the MPA network (HES WMS) (OSCP)	Historic Marine Protected Areas ‘Historic MPAs’ are designated under Section 67 of the Marine Scotland Act 2010 to protect marine historic assets (e.g historic shipwrecks) of national importance within Scottish territorial waters. The Scottish Government is committed to clean, healthy, safe, productive, biologically diverse marine and coastal environments, managed to meet the long-term needs of people and nature. This includes protecting and, where appropriate, enhancing our most important historic wrecks and other marine heritage sites in such a way that they can be valued and understood. One way Scottish Ministers can achieve this is by designating nationally important marine historic assets in Scottish territorial waters as Historic Marine Protected Areas under the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010. The data shows the boundaries of all Historic Marine Protected Areas in Scotland. You should refer to the Historic Marine Protected Area site documentation for exact locations of individual boundary points and supplementary information.
Common/harbour seal (Phoca vitulina) - Orkney and North Coast - fine-scale at sea usage map	This layer is displays a fine scale common/ harbour seal (Phoca vitulina) at sea usage map. These ‘usage’ maps are produced by looking at movement data from telemetry tagged seals between 2003 and 2015. The resulting patterns of usage are scaled to population levels using data collected in aerial survey counts at haul-out sites, to produce estimates of mean density at a spatial resolution of 0.6 km x 0.6 km grid cells. Alongside these maps, a report is available at (https://data.marine.gov.scot/dataset/fine-scale-harbour-seal-sea-usage-mapping-around-orkney-and-north-coast-scotland), that describes how fine-scale harbour seal usage maps around Orkney and the north coast of Scotland can be used and interpreted, as well as the caveats and limitations, and methodology used to produce them.
Seaweed Consultation (2016) - Resource map	This layer shows the distribution of seaweed and potential seaweed habitat. This was created to support Marine Scotland's Wild Harvesting of Seaweed and Seagrass SEA Environmental Report. The layer includes spatial information on seaweeds and seagrasses, as well as confidence in the data associated with each species.
Seaweed Consultation (2016) - Proposed Future Resource Harvesting Locations	This layer was created to support Marine Scotland's Wild Harvesting of Seaweed and Seagrass SEA Environmental Report. The layer includes spatial information on potential future areas where seaweed and seagrass could be harvested.
Seaweed Consultation (2016) - Current Kelp Harvesting Methods	This layer was created to support Marine Scotland's Wild Harvesting of Seaweed and Seagrass SEA Environmental Report. The layer includes spatial information on known areas where seaweed (Kelp) is currently harvested.
Seaweed Consultation (2016) - Current Red Seaweed Harvesting Methods	This layer was created to support Marine Scotland's Wild Harvesting of Seaweed and Seagrass SEA Environmental Report. The layer includes spatial information on known areas where seaweed and seagrass (Red Seaweed) is currently harvested.
Seaweed Consultation (2016) - Current Green Seaweed Harvesting Methods	This layer was created to support Marine Scotland's Wild Harvesting of Seaweed and Seagrass SEA Environmental Report. The layer includes spatial information on known areas where seaweed and seagrass (Green Seaweed) is currently harvested.
