Healthy and Biologically Diverse

Marine Scotland has a vision for Scottish seas to deliver sustainable economic growth through "clean, healthy, safe, productive, biologically diverse marine coastal environments, managed to meet the long-term needs of nature and people".

The Healthy and Biologically Diverse Seas section of Marine Scotland Information covers the various components of the seas to demonstrate its health and biological diversity in terms of the habitats and species present. The information is derived mainly from the survey programmes of Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC), Marine Scotland and others.
