Scapa Flow - Common goldeneye - Distribution (SNH WMS) |
Special Protection Areas (SPAs) in Scotland are classified by Scottish Ministers. These are areas of the most important habitat for rare (listed on Annex I to the Directive) and regularly occurring migratory birds within the European Union. SPAs are classified under the EC Birds Directive and together with Special Areas of Conservation (SACs), form the Natura 2000 network. This layer shows the distribution of the Common Goldeneye at Scapa Flow. It is part of a series of Scottish Natural Heritage Web Map Service (WMS) layers that show the proposed boundaries and underlying evidence for the possible marine Special Protection Areas, which were issued for consultation in 2016.

Fishing Statistics - Demersal sales (£) from Scottish waters (per ICES statistical rectangle) 2013-2017 |
First sales (£GBP) from commercial fishing activity in Scottish seas of demersal (midwater/oceanic) fish species, including UK registered fishing vessels wherever they land and non-UK vessels if landing into the UK, as recorded in last five years of published statistics. Data is redacted if less than five vessels operate within an ICES statistical rectangle (values = -1).
Data derived from salenotes provided by fish buyers and sellers to the UK fishing authorities as required under EU legislation on the Register of Buyers and Sellers.
Users are recommended to zoom in to see the detail of the graph axes. For each layer, the colour of the ICES rectangle represents the data for the most recent year. Rectangles cross-hatched indicate that fishing takes but the data are disclosive (cannot be displayed for reasons of commercial confidentiality).

Fishing Statistics - Effort (days) by UK vessels >10m length using pelagic active gear in Scottish waters (per ICES statistical rectangle) 2013-2017 |
Effort (days) derived from UK-registered commercial fishing activity in Scottish seas using active pelagic gears (midwater trawls, seines, and trolling lines), as recorded in last five years of published statistics. Data is redacted if less than five vessels operate within an ICES statistical rectangle (values = -1).
Data derived from logbook data provided to the UK fishing authorities as required under EU or national legislation.

This layer displays the landings by live weight (tonnes) for commercial fishing activity in Scottish seas of demersal (bottom dwelling) fish species, including UK registered fishing vessels wherever they land and non-UK vessels if landing into the UK, as recorded in last five years of published statistics. Data is redacted if less than five vessels operate within an ICES statistical rectangle (values = -1).
Data derived from logbooks and landing declarations provided to the UK fishing authorities as required under Council Regulation (EC) No. 1224/2009 (all over 10m vessels), and any forms required by licence conditions (UK under 10m vessels).
